I have seen these done "professionally" and at high cost. Wanting something like this to display in my own family room I decided to try it myself and was thrilled at the way they turned out. The finished project will be 8.5x11 to be framed as an 8x10 that way there is some leeway when it comes to framing. I typically use cardstock but can work with any colors, scrapbook patterned/themed papers as well and will be in close contact with you through the project to make sure that you are satisfied. I can also do reverse silhouettes with a dark background and light silhouette. Each is handmade so will be uniquely yours! Some things to keep in mind: this isn't like a typical auction where I have the product in-hand and can drop it in the mail. There is some turnaround time. I can't get started until I receive your photo and then it will take up to a week to complete the project and get it on the way to you. When taking your profile photo to provide to me, be sure that you look closely at the outline of the subject so that you are sure you will be happy with it once it's finished. The best way to take the photo is level with the subject and directly from the side. Note that people with long hair are difficult to do...they turn out much better if the person puts their hair up in a bun or ponytail...that way there is some definition at the back of the head. You're welcome to email your photo to me or send it in the mail. I have done photos of crawling babies, etc. as well, but again, take a close look at the outline of the subject to be sure it will be defined well in a solid color. And of course, if I question the quality of the photo when I get it or it doesn't turn out well you will be more than welcome to send me another to work from. I'm happy to offer framing as well. I have the framing upgrade listed in another auction that you would have to purchase separately. If you purchase the framing upgrade note that the shipping for this listing, the silhouette itself, will not apply, you'll only pay for shipping on the frame. And...I'm not a glass-cutter...it will be a quality store-bought frame. I'll work closely with you on this as well to get a frame color/texture and matting, if you'd like, that you prefer. That way it's ready to hang when it arrives! I'm hoping to get some listings up for other sizes including 11x14, 5x7, and 4x6.
